We recommend you visit:

the City of Cádiz
Visit the Cathedral and its lookout tower, the Bay of Cádiz, stroll through the old city quarters, visit the Roman Theatre or the beaches such as La Caleta and Victoria. Cádiz is a beautiful city and an amazing example of the passage of time.

Véjer de la Frontera
Véjer is a small town full of charm, situated just a few kilometres from Barbate. The main attraction is its splendid old quarters with low, whitewashed houses and patios filled with flowers. Véjer has a great night-time atmosphere and a good variety of tourist accommodation.

Tarifa
The Windy town, ideal for practicing wind and beach-related sports. The town has a vast historical and cultural heritage such as the Puerta de Jerez (Jerez Gate), Castillo de los Guzmanes (the Guzmans’ Castle) or the “Castle” of Santa Catalina. Tarifa also has beautiful beaches at Punta Paloma with its intricate system of dunes or Valdevaqueros.

the Route of the White Villages
This is a tourist route that takes in many of the villages of the Sierra (Mountain Range) district in the province of Cádiz. Its name comes from the white-wash used to paint the outside of the houses which is made of lime in order to repel the heat. Many of these villages belong to the Parque Natural de la Sierra de Grazalema.

The Baelo Claudia Archaeological Complex

Declared a National Historical Monument, it is quite amazing how well-preserved this Roman town and factory is. With the ruins of Baelo, the province of Cádiz has managed to preserve one of the best examples of an urban Roman town known to us. A Museum which can be visited, is located next to the Playa de Bolonia beach.

A Roman City located 22 kilometres from Tarifa inside the park of the Straits of Gibraltar. Its architectural remains reveal they are of Roman origin dating back to the end of the second century AD. Its existence is connected to the early trade routes serving North Africa.
